Frenchy Haynes

Frenchy has worked as an apprentice dancer with the Dance Theater of Harlem and as an understudy with the Paul Taylor Dance Company and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Professionally he has traveled the world as a member of Kathryn Posin Dance Company and Nikolais Dance Theater to name a few. Mr. Haynes is a retired New York City Department of Education educator with 28 years of service as a Dance Specialist, English Teacher, Arts Administrator and grades 6-12 instructor for students with disabilities.

In addition to serving as a teaching artist facilitating the Revelations Curriculum for the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater Foundation, Frenchy served as Director of AileyCamp Boston. He has also been a teaching artist for the Joyce Theater Foundation School and Family Programs. As a choreographer his work has been presented at La Mama (New York City), Harlem School of the Arts, Bronx Academy of Arts and Dance (BAAD), and the Center for Performance Research (Brooklyn, NY). He is most passionate about bringing high quality, inclusive, and accessible dance education programs to schools, and faith-based and community-based organizations.

Frenchy Haynes earned in BA degree in Dance and Dance Education from SUNY-Empire State College and holds a Master’s degree in Language and Literacy from the City College of the City of New York (CUNY), along with a Master’s degree in Supervision and Administration form Baruch College of CUNY.
